Chuck Kearns - Senior Consultant

Chuck Kearns has been involved with Public Safety and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) since 1981. He is certified as both an EMT and Paramedic. Chuck has worked in government, private for-profit and private not-for-profit EMS and public safety agencies.
Mr. Kearns has held numerous leadership positions in his career, including serving as Executive Director of the largest public utility model EMS system in the United States for 12 years, Pinellas County EMS. That operation responded to 172,000 ambulance service requests and transported over 122,000 patients annually. Chuck currently oversees the operation of six ambulance companies and an EMS training institution in Michigan and Ohio.
A speaker at many national conferences and author of numerous articles, Mr. Kearns has also been recognized for his industry leadership. Mr. Kearns was elected to two terms as a Director of the American Ambulance Association, and is an elected member of the Board of Directors for the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians. Chuck is a member of the Journal of Emergency Medical Services, Editorial Board and EMS Magazine’s Editorial Advisory Board. Chuck is the recipient of the Florida EMS Lifetime Achievement Award. He was appointed by the Surgeon General in 2008, and is currently the Chairman of the Florida EMS Advisory Council.
